Duration: Varies - See Charm Duration table below for exact durations
Notes/Description
The success rate of this ability is greatly affected by CHR, and can be estimated with Gauge.
CHR also increases the resistance against Charm (from a monster that uses charm).
Some gear will give Charm +, which does not affect the charm success rate, but increases the duration of the Charm (from the initial value based on the level difference between the beastmaster and the pet).
It has been reported that +1 charm seems to increase the duration of charm by 5%. +20 charm doubles the duration of charm.
The Light Staff and the HQ version, Apollo's Staff increase success rate by roughly 10% and 15%, respectively.
If charm fails, the mob will attack you.
Some enemies cannot be charmed at all.
If this ability is used against an enemy that cannot be charmed, target will be bound for a short time. Be careful, as the mob will be considered engaged and will attack after it becomes unbound.
A non-charmable mob cannot be charmed (bound) if there is an active pet.
The ability cannot be used on an enemy that is in Call for Help status.
A mob with the Beastmaster job, while able to charm players, cannot Charm a player's pet.
When Charm expires, the former pet will attack you unless you are at least 30' away, and under Deodorize if the mob tracks by scent.
